Rakesh Ranjan Thakur

Dr. Thakur has done his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing & Geoinformatics from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, India, with more than 15 years of working experience in serving national and state-level scientific organizations. His research widely covers the fields of remote sensing, geospatial science, disaster management, natural resources management, mangrove and wetland studies, urban planning, water resources management, coastal vulnerability and applications, biodiversity studies, environmental studies, AI/ML-based applications in the geospatial domain, etc. With a strong research focus on harnessing geospatial technologies for sustainable development, he has made significant contributions to understanding and mitigating the impacts of natural disasters, managing natural resources, and monitoring environmental changes, informing policy and practice at local, national, and international levels.
