The School conducts research across structural, geotechnical, transportation, water resources and environmental engineering through a School-level Research Committee, doctoral scholars, sponsored projects, patents and industry consultancy.

Research at the School spans structural health monitoring, geotechnical and offshore engineering, transportation infrastructure, water resource management and industrial-waste utilisation in construction, guided by a School-level Research Committee.
Faculty and scholars work on sponsored projects funded by SERB–DST, ICSSR, TEQIP-III and state government bodies, alongside a growing patent portfolio and consultancy engagements with National Highways, NBCC, LIC of India and other public and private clients.
