GRANDE FIESTA V2.0

In order to encourage and motivate the academic and extracurricular activities of the students, a Grand Fest was organized by the ASCE and ICE KIIT Student Chapter in School of Civil Engineering, KIIT DU on 15th February, 2020. The Fest was divided into two sections, i.e. the Technical Events and the Cultural Events. The Technical Fest comprised of four competitions, namely: 1. Archo-Mattone2. Cad-a-thon 3. Civiwiz and 4. Arch-o-Graphy; all of which were conducted within the School of Civil Engineering (KIIT Deemed to be University, Campus 3).

Industry Knowledge Lecture Series on Innovations in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure & Projects (iCRIP)-2019

The Inaugural Function of Industry Knowledge Lecture Series on “Innovations in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure & Projects (iCRIP)” -2019 was held at Campus-6 on 14th November, 2019. The Lecture Series were focused on various themes like emerging trends in Construction, Real Estate & Infrastructure, Smart Cities & Sustainability, Advanced Construction Project Management, Infrastructure Finance and Management, Innovative Construction Methods & Technologies, Rapid Construction & Low Cost Infrastructures, Construction vs. Maintenance / Rehabilitation, Future of Infrastructure Investment, Application of IT in Civil Engineering, Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) in Infrastructure. The Welcome Address was presented by Prof. Saranjit Singh, Director IEC, where he welcomed the Chief Guest and the final year students of the School of Civil Engineering. Placing a brief introduction on the genesis of the lecture series, he described the various industry linked engagements by the University to enrich the skills of the students. Prof. B. G. Mohapatra Director, School of Civil Engineering, narrated the activities of School in a nutshell and also diverse industry related courses developed to bridge the gap between academics and industry. Mr. Samiron Sarkar, Senior General Manager (HR), Penna Cement Hyderabad presented a talk on Emerging Trends in Construction, Real Estate & Infrastructure and the role of Civil Engineers. He cited many examples from his past experience to the students which indeed motivated the students. There was an interactive session between the Chief Guest with the students and faculty members. Eventually, the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Dipti Ranjan Biswal, IEC Coordinator.
