Higher study collaboration with foreign universities

1. Nanhua University, Taiwan

Nanhua University (NHU) in Taiwan and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in India have signed a MoU to foster academic exchange and cooperation between the institutions.

NHU offered a scholarship-based Master's Programme in “Green Technology for Sustainability” for our graduating civil engineering students under the Taiwan Experience Education Programme (TEEP) from the Minister of Education.

2. Warsaw University of Life Science – SGGW, Poland

Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Programme, EUPHRATES Project — a 10-month Bachelor exchange programme in civil engineering at the Faculty of Civil & Environmental Engineering.

3. Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), UK

KIIT signed a MoU with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), UK in 2018 to facilitate collaborative research and teaching between the universities. SHU, a premier university offering railway engineering, agreed to offer a one-year M.Tech programme, a one-semester abroad programme for B.Tech students, and a summer school.

1. MoU signing with Ernst & Young LLP

The MoU was called for as part of the vision “Swachh Odisha Sustha Odisha” of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, adopting sanitation through Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM). The EY-led Technical Support Unit has engaged KIIT, Bhubaneswar, across 8 districts of Odisha to build local technical capabilities and execute the interventions.

The partnership focuses on two areas: (1) an Urban FSSM Fellowship Programme to support programme delivery at district level, and (2) technical support through R&D to identify improvements in existing FSSM infrastructure.

2. MoU signing with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation & ORMAS, Govt. of Odisha

To provide a mason training programme at Gram Panchayat / Block level, improving the quality of construction and ensuring the availability of skilled masons for house construction in villages, under the PMAY-G Rural Mason Training scheme.

Academic collaboration with industry

To enhance the employability of students, the School offers a skill-based programme called Graduate Engineering Training (GET), run in collaboration with industry. Elective subjects are offered based on the requirements of a specific company, with course design, lecture delivery and laboratory components devised by resource persons from the collaborating industry.
