The valedictory function of the five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Recent Advances in Forensic Analysis in Civil Engineering (RAFACE)” organized by School of Civil Engineering under the aegis of AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy was held on 1st October 2021 on virtual mode. The FDP witnessed talks by eminent researchers from across the globe and participants from various reputed institutes of India and abroad.
Speaking at the valedictory function, Prof. A. K. Keshari, IIT Delhi stated that Civil Engineering always interacts and serves the society at large. Forensic analysis in Civil Engineering can help us prepare better for natural disasters like landslides and floods, he added, while appreciating KIIT School of Civil Engineering (KSCE) for organizing the FDP on this important subject.
Prof. B. G. Mohapatra, Director, Consultancy Services outlined the achievements of the school in the consultancy sector with practical applications in the road and soil sector. The FDP had 14 sessions encompassing various facets of forensic research and practices. Among others, Prof. Sanjib Moulick, Dean, KSCE; Prof. B. Das, Senior Professor; and Dr. Madhu Lisha Pattanayak, FDP Coordinator also spoke at the valedictory function. Dr. Aparupa Pani proposed the vote of thanks.
