Biography and academic profile
Kalpana Sahoo is an Assistant Professor with a strong research focus in pavement engineering and sustainable infrastructure materials. She completed her B.Tech from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, and her M.Tech from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at KIIT University, with research cantered on the geopolymer stabilization of pavement materials used in base and sub-base layers.
Her research primarily investigates the use of industrial by-products and alkali-activated materials to enhance the mechanical, durability, and performance characteristics of pavement base and sub-base layers. The work aims to reduce dependency on conventional cementitious stabilizers, lower carbon emissions, and promote sustainable pavement construction practices. Her research outcomes contribute to the development of cost-effective, durable, and environmentally responsible solutions for modern highway infrastructure.
